We recently visited one of our suppliers’ multi-story factories to conduct a quality assurance inspection of products ordered by our clients. Join us on an guided tour of one of Foshan’s leading sanitary ware factories!
This multi-story factory integrates production lines, warehousing, and office areas. The building’s design incorporates blue glass on the exterior, which serves multiple purposes:
- regulating natural light
- reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling
- maintaining interior privacy
- providing protection from ultraviolet radiation
A summary of the production process is provided below, as direct photography is not available.
- Step 1: Use the high-quality Raw Materials-ceramic clay sourced from local mines, known for its durability and fine texture.
- Step 2: Use advanced slip casting technology that the clay is poured into precision molds to create the initial shapes.
- Step 3: The molded pieces are carefully dried and then fired in high-temperature kilns at over 1200°C to achieve strength and durability.
- Step 4: Each piece is meticulously glazed to ensure a smooth, waterproof finish.
- Step 5: Every product undergoes rigorous quality control to meet standards, including pressure resistance, stain resistance, and durability checks.
Look at these finished models, in different states of completion, awaiting post-processing such as glazing and packaging. Some are clean and ready, others still dusty from production, and some are protected by plastic film.
These molds are integral to the production of a wide array of sanitary ware, including toilets, squatting pans, wash basins, and bathroom mirrors, making them well-suited for high-traffic environments like hotels and public restrooms.
The finished models were truly remarkable! Just look at this one in the photo—a breathtaking gold creation with crisp white accents, detailed linework, a striking diamond lattice pattern, and delicate floral motifs. Even the sink is gleamingly golden! We believe this is either part of a retail collection or a bespoke order for a client. Golden color holds significant cultural meaning in China, representing wealth and attracting prosperity. What do you think of this piece?
We then came to their spacious warehouse, used for storing, transferring, and performing preliminary processing of sanitary ware. Neatly stacked rows of finished toilets, squatting pans, and water tanks—some already wrapped in protective plastic. To make a joke that they resemble soldiers awaiting parade, some clad in transparent plastic film like protective armor. Piles of materials line the edges. The inventory here is certainly extensive—stretch as far as the eye can see. Have you ever seen a larger warehouse? I’d love to hear about it!
As we continued our walk, we came across not only the stored products but also a substantial number of orders, neatly packed in cardboard boxes and prepared for shipment. The distinct packaging styles suggested a system for differentiating between various customer orders. Alongside these, we saw unboxed squatting pans, after the high-temperature firing, showcasing their robust texture and impressive resistance to wear and corrosion.
